Great Deal for a mantel but its unfinished not white like in their photo
Well worth the Money compared to other mantles of the same quality. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it comes completely unfinished: we're talking bare wood. I'm aware it says "unfinished product" in the description but after viewing the photo I assumed maybe it came with a white primer or something. Installation is easy enough. You just need to purchase some wood screws liquid nail & brad (finishing) nails. It comes with the rectangular block you need to mount to the wall first (using wood screws & liquid nail) then you attach the mantel cap/shelf to the block using liquid nail & the finishing nails. Its recommended you pre drill some holes in the top of the shelf to put your brad nails through to attach it to the rectangular block. That way you don't risk splitting the wood. Last 2 steps are to use a "nail set" or a punch to gently tap the brad nails below flush of the top of the shelf and then just paint it. The instructions are included & explain everything pretty clearly. It definitely needs to be painted with a color so you can't see the wood type/wood grain. I believe the top piece is MDF (fiberboard) & the rest of the shelf is a different type of wood. It looks very nice though. Smooth nicely sanded sturdy etc. Delivery was incredibly quick: Ordered on a Sunday & it was delivered by Tuesday even using the standard shipping.
